I purchased some beautiful tie-dyed wool yarn last summer from a vendor at the “By the Sea” Art and Seafood Festival in Coffman Cove, Alaska. It has been almost a year now that I have been waiting for just the right project to come along to use that yarn. Last night I decided to use it to reward myself with a brand new Handy Bag, as opposed to the Halloween Treat Bag I had been using up until now. I think it turned out great!
I crocheted one additional row along the bottom of the bag which resulted in two more additional stitches around, thus using 15 stitches on each handle, rather than 14 per side. Then I added a matching ribbon through both sides of the bag to keep things more securely situated inside. I love it!
This bag is going to be a lot of fun through the summer along with the new Very Versatile Tote I posted about a week ago. And…I am so excited to have a storefront set up directly on my website now. Although I still have shops on Etsy and Ravelry, this new online store has me really motivated to start working on new patterns to sell directly from my website! ~ Happy Easter, Everyone!
Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond my control I will no longer be offering temporary 30-day free patterns. Instead I will add a new pattern to my Ravelry.com shop every 30 days and include a FREE “sneak peak” on my website. Thank you for browsing my growing collection of permanent Free patterns, Video projects, and Tutorials at Granny’s Crochet Shoppe. Coming in November are a basic Christmas Stocking (with space for personalization) and a Winter Ensemble for 18-inch dolls, along with a new free project and tutorial.
It is not too soon to start crocheting some beanies and doll dresses for holiday gift-giving! Autumn has arrived with a few new basic stitch tutorials, a new beanie video project, and a new 30-day free pattern for a basic 18-inch doll dress with buttons. Don’t forget there is still time to whip up a Halloween Treat Bag to match your little goblin’s Halloween costume! The free doll mermaid pattern has expired, but it is available for purchase from my Ravelry.com store. Happy Haunting!
Another free pattern has been tested and posted! These little washcloths are quick to crochet and make nice additions to baby and birthday gift bags or bridal shower favors. I have made literally hundreds of these in large and small varieties. Great to sell at bazaars as well. Grab a hook and give it a try!
