Petite Party Christmas Stocking — Pom Cuff

Completed stocking is approximately 10 inches from top to tip of toe.All three versions of the Petite Party Christmas stockings are basically the same crochet pattern with some variation, but each stocking is written individually as a stand-alone pattern. Use your imagination and add embellishments to personalize your petite party stockings. Fill them full of treats, gift cards or little gifts! MATERIALS:

  • Color A – Caron Simply Soft Party yarn
  • Color B – Caron Simply Soft Party yarn
  • G/4.00mm Crochet hook
  • Stitch marker
  • Plastic yarn needle
  • Scissors

STITCHES:                                           

  • Magic Adjustable Loop                                    
  • Ch = chain stitch                                              
  • Sc = single crochet
  • Hdc = half double crochet
  • Dc = double crochet
  • Tr = treble crochet
  • Hdc2tog = half double crochet 2 together
  • Sl st = slip stitch

GAUGE:

8 hdc x 6 rows = 2 inches   Gauge is not critical. Using a larger or smaller hook or different weight of yarn will create a larger or smaller stocking for your preference.

You will crochet the stocking from the toe upward.

ROUND 1: With Color A Make Magic Adjustable Loop, ch 2, hdc 7 more times into loop. Total 8 hdc, including ch 2. Join with sl st into top of ch 2. Tighten loop.

ROUND 2: ch 2, 2 hdc in next 7 hdc, 1 hdc in same stitch as ch 2. Total 16 hdc, including ch 2 stitch. Join with sl st into top of ch 2.

ROUND 3: ch 2, *2 hdc in next stitch, 1 hdc in next stitch*. Repeat from * to * 6 more times. 2 hdc in next stitch. Total of 24 hdc, including ch 2 stitch. Join with sl st into top of ch 2.

ROUND 4: ch 2, *2 hdc in next stitch, 1 hdc into each of next 2 stitches*. Repeat from * to * 6 more times. 2 hdc in next stitch, 1 hdc into next stitch. Total of 32 hdc, including ch 2 stitch. Join with hdc into top of ch 2. Place Stitch marker into hdc.

ROUNDS 5 through 16: hdc in each hdc around. Total of 32 stitches for each round. Move stitch marker up one round each time a round is completed. Working in spiral rounds will minimize the seams in your stocking. After Round 16 only – Do not join in top of stitch with stitch marker. LEAVE STITCH MARKER IN PLACE. Do not move it up.

HEEL:

ROW 1: Ch 2, turn, hdc2tog across the very first 2 stitches (begin at base of ch 2), hdc in next 2 stitches, dc in next 4 stitches, hdc in next 2 stitches, hdc2tog.

ROW 2: Ch 2, turn, hdc2tog across the very first 2 stitches (begin at base of ch 2), hdc in next stitch, dc in next 4 stitches, hdc in next stitch, hdc2tog.

ROW 3: Ch 2, turn, hdc2tog across the very first 2 stitches (begin at base of ch 2), hdc in next stitch, dc in next 2 stitches, hdc in next stitch, hdc2tog.

ROW 4: Ch 2, turn, hdc2tog across the very first 2 stitches (begin at base of ch 2), hdc in next 2 stitches, hdc2tog. Ch 1, sl st in ends of next 4 rows.

Resume stocking tube:

ROUND 17: Hdc into stitch with stitch marker. (See right photo of Figure 1) Move stitch marker up one row. Hdc in next 19 stitches, hdc in each end of next 4 rows, hdc in each of next 4 stitches, hdc in each of next 4 sl st. total of 32 hdc around (adjust to make sure you have 32). Join with hdc in stitch with stitch marker. Move stitch marker up one row.

ROUND 18 – 27: Hdc in each hdc around. Join with hdc in stitch with stitch marker. Move stitch marker up one row.

ROUND 28: Hdc in each hdc around. Hdc into hdc with stitch marker, remove stitch marker. Hdc in next 2 stitches, sl st in next stitch. Fasten off Color A.

ROUND 29: Attach Color B at sl st from round 28. Sc in same stitch. Sc in each hdc around. Join with sl st into first sc. It is important to have 32 sc stitches at this point!

ROUND 30: Ch 1, turn, sc in same stitch. Tr in next stitch, sc in next stitch, tr in next stitch, Repeat from * to * 14 more times. Join with sl st into first sc.

ROUND 31: Ch 1, turn, sc in same stitch, sc in each stitch around. Join with sl st into first sc. Total of 32 sc.

ROUND 32 – 37: Repeat Rounds 30 and 31 three more times.

HANGER: Ch 8, sc into same sc, sc into next sc, ch1, turn. Sc in back bumps of ch 8 (8 sc), join with sl st into next sc. Fasten Off. Weave in loose ends. Trim.
