Child’s Striped Scarf

EASY BEGINNER — GREAT FOR PRACTICING SINGLE CROCHET STITCHES!
This scarf may be made using any worsted weight yarn. However, using yarn with a built in striping pattern makes it extra fun for our Young Crochet Friends! Please feel free to copy this pattern to distribute freely for children’s crochet classes.
MATERIALS:
- 1 Skein Red Heart Super Saver “Stripes” or similar yarn
- Crochet Hook — J / 6.00 mm
- Plastic Yarn Needle
- Scissors
STITCHES:
- ch — chain
- sc — single crochet
GAUGE: not significant
ROW 1: Ch 19, 1 sc in BACK BUMP of second ch from hook. Sc in each back bump across. 18 Total sc. Ch 1 turn.
ROW 2: Sc in each sc across row. 18 sc total. Ch 1. Turn.
ROW 3 through 110 (or desired length of scarf): Repeat Row 2. 18 sc total each row.
LAST ROW: Sc in each sc across. Fasten off. Trim.
