Also I use a beanie pattern that to make one for a doll with a ponytail I just start 3-4 rows into patern. Ie what number of stitches that should be made on that row is what I chain and then just work rest of beanie as normal. Leaves a top hole for ponytail to come out of. 😊 love this little sweater❤️

How do you print cardigan pattern for 18” doll? You offer free patterns but don’t make them available for printing.

Hi Marlene! If you scroll to the “share” area at the bottom of the pattern instructions, there is a button to click for printing the pages. I just tested it to be sure. Click the “print” button, and it should direct you to your printer dialogue. Thank you for checking out my website! Hope this explanation helps. Let me know if you need anything else.

hmmmmm After you chain 3 at the beginning of row 9 — are you doing a dc at the base of the ch 3? Make your first real dc into the top of the first real dc of the row. I bet that is what you are doing….

Hi Christine! I found a quiet time and place to crochet, following the pattern closely for row 2. Both that process as well as the calculation should result with 38 total dc and 4 V stitiches. It is really easy to accidentally miss going into a ch stitch here or there if the the chain gets twisted. I think that the problem is that you and I are somehow doing some thing different from each other. Maybe try to add an extra ch to the beginning chain and see if that solves the problem. If you email me a photo, I may be able to figure it out for you. Keep me posted, and good luck!

Be sure to count the ch 3 at the beginning of the row as a dc in your total.

I tried to make this but t found an error in the directions. In Row 2, why are there 2 V stitches done at the start of the row but none at the end? Once you turn your work and start on Row 3, there are no Ch 1 spaces to work into. Is there any way you can fix this, as I would love to make this for granddaughter. Thank you.

Thank you Sandy!!! It is almost like all my V-stitch instructions disappeared in row 3! This page gets a large number of hits everyday, and you are the first to comment on the needed correction. I am going to send a complimentary pattern to the email which came through my comment notifications. Thank you so much!

Not sure what you are telling us with this bracket. I’m new at trying to read patterns, please excuse me for not understanding.

Hi Brenda, I’m not sure which bracket you are referring to. Make sure you are on the page with the actual pattern and not the running blog posts. I will be revamping this site after the holidays to reduce confusion. Here is the full page with instructions. Please let me know if you still need assistance, and I would be happy to help. https://grannyscrochetshoppe.com/free-patterns/basic-sweater-beanie-for-18-doll/
